VMware Greenplum Command Center (GPCC) is a graphical console for database admins and other end users to view system metrics and perform certain database operations. It’s an essential component of VMware Greenplum Database.

In the past four years, I’ve been the sole designer for this product. In the beginning, I supported new feature design and feature improvement every 3 months. As I gained more and more understanding of our users and typical use cases, I was able to take up the project to redesign the navigation structure of the console.
