One thing interests me most about Carnegie Mellon University is the collaboration among seven schools, which can be seen from the numerous research projects as well as dozens of innovation labs in the university.

In this data visualization project, I used Processing.js to illustrate the innovation happening on campus. I selected 14 innovation labs in the university and counted the numbers of faculty and students from seven schools in each lab.

In the end, I created a videosketch to describe how this data visualization tool would be used. The scenario that I envision is that it could be embedded into university brochures to help applicants gain more in-depth understanding of the university.

To interact with the prototype, you can click the eight buttons on the left to see the number of people in 14 labs from different schools. You can also hover over the lab names to learn more information.
